MY JOURNEY TO BOARD ROOM

Reviews of the book

Chairman Jacobs Engineering – Dr. A. N. Dravid

I am sure that this volume Subhash has compiled painstakingly during his retirement will serve not only to provide interesting anecdotes, but also provide priceless insights into effective tools of project management, and secrets of an effective project manager. All prospective project engineers and managers would do well to read it.

Ashok Malik – M.D Indiana Conveyors Pvt. Ltd.

Excellent reading. Much to be learned by young people. It is good that you have not used hi fi fundas of management to impress the people, but used very simple episodes to bring in the same effect.

A. P. Deshpande -  Marathi Vidnyan Parishad

In English or Marathi, there are hardly any books in India on one’s career. Such books are not only interesting to read but can inspire those who work on similar jobs. There are autographies but mainly of politicians or leaders. This book must be read not only by people working in the project engineering companies but by all those working in any industry and get insight for his personal growth

R.C. Bhave _Ex NOCIL
The lucid flow of words mesmerizing with all your fine attributes in the field of engineering which lesser mortals like us lack. Your book resembles flow chart with words cascading and reader canoeing through the flow.

Tilak – Ex General Manager Uhde India

The book provides inspiration and guideline to the youngsters and perhaps more effectively to those ‘unhappy souls’ in any organization who would be induced to do their introspection and realize that ‘causes of discontentment are within themselves’. Every reader must have enjoyed the lucid language, free-flowing thoughts, honest exposition of experience with not even the slightest self-toward notion of being an advisor.

Reasons for writing this book are simple.

Relive the moments from 42 years – happy as well as sad ones. Memories are funny – when one remembers good times he had, he has tears in the eyes and when he remembers tough and sad times he has a smile on the face.

What is generally believed – recounting past provides a guide to the future. Events in last more than 4 decades have been a great source of leaning and of course unlearning too. If some of these learnings and unlearnings are embodied I hope that it may give some guidance to younger generation. If from the narrated instances and experiences younger generation can pick up salient points for their learning, I would consider that this writing has served its purpose.

Instead of giving the simple advice to readers I have narrated my experiences and analyzed the same to come to conclusions.

Book narrates events to bring out requisites for successful career – people skill, memory, leadership qualities, decision making, analytical mind, time management et al.

Book discloses the names of persons from whom I learned positive attributes. I have avoided the names for the people from whom I learned what "not to do".

When I write my memories and analyze events naturally I am giving my opinions. Every reader may or may not agree with these opinions. Concept is to narrate the events and my analysis. Readers may form their own opinions. If readers come to somewhat similar conclusions, I would think I have really learned something.
